Romans 12:1

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship.

Week one spring semester

Glad to see everyone back after Christmas break!

This week we talked about God's most important commandments.  Those are to love God and love people.

Our memory verse was
Here is what it means to love God: we obey his commands,  and they are not hard to obey.
1 John 5:3

Christmas Random Acts of Kindness Advenet Calendar

Hi everyone!
I know we are well into the month of December, and not meeting anymore,  but I just found this neat idea, and it goes along with out theme for TKGC this year, so I just HAD to share!

This is a link to a two page printable advent calendar with activities for promoting service and kindness:
http://printables.yourway.net/random-acts-of-kindness-advent-calendar/

It's never too late to get started sharing kindness to others.  I hope that you can use these with your family and serve together.  Use them now or anytime of year.

And a reminder that there are extra activities in their folder that are very Christmas oriented.  Please feel free to do them with your families this Christmas.  I hope you are enjoying these activities.  And as always, if you have any ideas for new ones, please share!  I'd love to hear what you have been doing together.

Merry Christmas to all of you!  And I will see you in the new year.

God Bless,
Mrs. Pam

Week eleven

Only a few more weeks to go!   It has been a pleasure teaching your children this semester.   I hope they are growing hearts for others and telling them the good news of the gospel.

This week we learned about Mozambique and how a church was not teaching the children.  They were not welcome there.  A young missionary went there and started a Sunday school for the children.   Every child needs the opportunity to hear about Jesus and know how much He loves them.  Pray that adults will understand the importance of children learning about Jesus.

We talked about how many people in Mozambique have not heard about Jesus.   Their lives are very hard there. Pray that He will provide the things they need to live healthy lives.

We learned how special we are to Jesus especially children.

Our memory verse this week is: "let the children come to me" Matthew 19:14

Some fun we had trying to balance a book on our heads like the people of Mozambique:

Week ten

We talked about the Amazon jungle in South America this post week.   We learned that there are around 50 tribes in the jungle who have never had contact with the outside world and thus have never heard about Jesus.

We talked about how each of us has special tools and gifts that God has given us to use to spread the good news of grace, to reach out to others, to help them,  and sharing with them.

Our memory verse for this week is:
We have different gifts,  each according to the grave given to each of us.
Romans 12:6

Week Nine review

We are nearing the end of the fall semester.  Our last day for TKC will be November 20.

This week we talked about the importance of the Bible and being able to read it.  We learned about William Tyndale and his contribution to translating the Bible into English from Latin.   We also discussed how today people are translating the Bible still and taking them to people all over the world, teaching them the word of God.

Our memory verse for this week is: "Faith comes from hearing the word of God."  Romans 10:17

Week seven

This week we talked about orphans and the kind of lives they have in an orphanage. The kids were very sad to hear about how there is no one to tuck them in,  no one to love them, and they do not have many toys to play with.   Playgrounds are often small and much of the equipment is broken.   We compared our lives to those of the orphans and hopefully realized how blessed we are.

We also made Christmas cards for an orphanage in Japan.  One of the emergency team members who has worked with children orphaned by the 2011 tsunami has asked for handmade cards and money to buy the children presents.  If you are interested in donating money or more cards,  please contact the Geyers at vincentgandelaineg@gmail.com
They are in contact with Hank, the emergency
worker in Japan and are the ones collecting cards to send over.

Our memory verse this week is "A father to the fatherless,  a defender of widows,  is Good in his holy dwelling." Psalm 68:5

Praying all off you have a blessed week this week!  :)

Week 6 review

It's Monday and I just realized I forgot to blog!  Sorry.  :(

We had a great time on Wednesday with Mrs.  Rudd, one of our missionaries in Honduras.   She,  along with her husband, work there with deaf children and adults,  teaching them sign language and how much Jesus loves them.

Mrs.  Rudd showed the children some simple signs and how they teach them to the children.   She also gave them a worksheet to do similar to what they use at their school.

Our memory verse this week is : "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,  in heaven and earth and under the earth, " Philippians 2:10
